                        Activities can be subdivided into tasks.

                    A term for work whose meaning and placement within a
                        structured plan varies by application area, industry, and
                        brand of project management software. Also, the
                        lowest level of effort on a project.

                The distinction is largely academic. The important
                  thing is that the WBS accurately and completely captures the
                  total scope of work for the project.                  |
